Major Moscow's Assaults Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and faced problems to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and applying restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets targeted energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the city came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks follow nights of bombing campaigns in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to identify.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

He said utility staff and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
