Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a difficult period, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with former coach his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents his initial title following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from that period of that year.
Victory also signifies the Russian has won 21 victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," said tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on the playing surface had caused observers to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.
But the player has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an enhanced service.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the last five games to take the lead.
The pair traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial tour championship, gained dominance to push for a decider.
He rescued 4 initial break points in a competitive third set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, he secured victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
